Early Life and Career
Carter Verhaeghe is a Canadian professional ice hockey player currently playing as a center for the Florida Panthers in the National Hockey League (NHL). Born in Bolton, Ontario, on June 5, 1995, Verhaeghe began his hockey career with the Brampton Battalion of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).
NHL Career
Verhaeghe made his NHL debut with the New York Islanders during the 2017-18 season. After spending two and a half seasons with the Islanders, he was traded to the Panthers in 2020. Since then, he has become a key contributor to the Panthers' success.
In the 2021-22 season, Verhaeghe established himself as a breakout star, scoring 24 goals and recording 36 assists. His impressive performance earned him a three-year contract extension with the Panthers.
International Play
Verhaeghe has represented Canada at the international level. He won a gold medal with Team Canada at the 2018 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships.
